Cast iron casting and steel casting
Casting is our core process. We pour grey iron, ductile iron and steel on green sand lines, then finish the parts on our own machining centres.
Grey iron casting suits parts where damping, dimensional stability and machinability matter more than elongation — machine frames, housings and covers. Ductile iron casting adds nodular graphite, bringing strength and elongation closer to steel while keeping the economics of iron.
Where iron reaches its limit we pour carbon and low-alloy steel, for components that carry shock loads or need higher toughness. Steel shrinks more than iron and needs different gating and feeding, so we design the rigging for each part rather than reusing an iron layout.
All three routes run through the same controlled sequence: charge calculation, melting in induction furnaces, spectral verification before pouring, then shake-out, fettling, machining and inspection.

Cast iron components we produce
Pump and valve bodies
Pressure-tight housings where wall thickness and porosity control decide the part.
Gearbox and reducer bodies
Thin-wall housings with machined bore centres held to drawing.
Flywheels and pulleys
Balanced rotating parts in grey and ductile iron.
Steel castings for shock loads
Carbon and low-alloy steel where impact toughness matters more than damping.
Materials & grades
Standard grades we pour to EN 1561 and EN 1563. Custom chemistry on request.
Grey Iron Casting
EN 1561 / EN-GJL
Excellent damping and machinability; the workhorse grade for housings and frames.
| Grade | Legacy | Tensile Rm | Hardness | Typical application |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| EN-GJL-150 | GG15 | 150–250 MPa | 125–205 HB | Covers, counterweights, low-load housings |
| EN-GJL-200 | GG20 | 200–300 MPa | 150–230 HB | Pump housings, gearbox bodies |
| EN-GJL-250 | GG25 | 250–350 MPa | 180–250 HB | Machine frames, cylinder blocks |
| EN-GJL-300 | GG30 | 300–400 MPa | 200–275 HB | Hydraulic bodies, high-load housings |
Ductile Iron Casting
EN 1563 / EN-GJS
Nodular graphite gives steel-like strength and elongation with cast iron economics.
| Grade | Legacy | Tensile Rm | Hardness | Typical application |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| EN-GJS-400-15 | GGG40 | 400 MPa | 130–180 HB | Pipe fittings, brackets, suspension parts |
| EN-GJS-500-7 | GGG50 | 500 MPa | 170–230 HB | Gearbox housings, pulleys, flywheels |
| EN-GJS-600-3 | GGG60 | 600 MPa | 190–270 HB | Crankshafts, gears, high-stress parts |
| EN-GJS-700-2 | GGG70 | 700 MPa | 225–305 HB | Heavy-duty machine components |
